Crane Siding Installation in Flanders, NJ
Insulated siding is a relatively new breed of product on the market. We recently completed a siding installation project in Flanders, NJ using Crane foam-backed siding. This particular siding is known as CraneBoard Double 7. It’s designed to mimic 7″ board-width cedar siding. The model we installed here has an R-value of 4.0 and a deep-shadowed profile for a distinctive architectural appearance.
Why bother having siding that insulates? Crane’s SmartCore system means that their insulated siding has an R-value of four times that of conventional vinyl siding. This can be particularly helpful for older, less well insulated homes, but it can also have an impact on the energy efficiency of homes constructed using more modern insulating techniques. Special ridges allow moisture to evaporate away from the siding, ensuring that moisture is managed efficiently.
Crane trim, which gives the appearance of wood, also reflects the designer’s concern for the overall finished look and beauty of the home.
We find a complete siding installation including CraneBoard Double 7 to be an excellent choice for energy conscious homeowners who don’t want to sacrifice appearance.
